This is a method used to check the strength and integrity of pressure vessels; such as SCBA, Oxygen , Fire extinguisher cylinders etc.
The basic principles of hydrostatic testing involve filling the vessel with water and pressurizing it to a level that exceeds its intended operating pressure. The vessel is then closely monitored for any signs of leakage, distortion, or other structural weaknesses that could compromise its safety.
During the testing process, we will follow DOT safety procedures and Local Regulations to prevent accidents and ensure the proper handling of pressurized equipment. Once the test is completed, the vessel is depressurized and thoroughly inspected for any signs of damage.
If the vessel passes the test, it is deemed safe for use within its specified operating parameters. Conversely, if any issues are identified, further inspection or repairs may be necessary before the vessel can be put into service.
